It wasn’t crowded, but it wasn’t empty either. I see a teenage boy walking towards me. Literally towards me. Being me, I didn’t try to clear the way for him, because he had the whole darn place and he was the one who wasn’t walking in a straight line. He brushed his arms with mine and just continued walking.

That wasn’t the first time it happens. It happened to me three times before in various shopping malls - mainly by 16-20 year old guys. In a public place, in the middle of the day, in front of people. They’d simply ignore all the empty places they can walk so comfortably on, and choose to be in close proximity to girls, so that eventually they can touch them.

They’re only using their arms now. I gotta say, I wrote about 6 lengthy paragraphs about this issue. But then I decided that I don’t wanna talk a lot because I’m honestly not sure about what to think. I’d rather gain more insight regarding this topic from you.

Here’s what I do know: Having offspring is important. Kids are important for any one family, and they’re important to keep the world going. I also know that our religion encourages reproduction.

What I don't know is, why deciding not to have kids considered such a horrible thing.

************************************

Phase One: The Foundation

I look at all those families today; a man and a girl get married, 10 months later they have a child. The mother spends a good 6 to 10 months with the baby (just because it’s her first baby), then she goes back to her job just because she got bored of the babysitting routine, leaving her infant with a total stranger who doesn’t speak the parents’ language – The Maid![1]

Phase Two: The Consequences

Now that the mother spends at least 6 hours at work, and when she gets back home she has to nap for 3 hours because she had to take care of the baby at night (wow!), and after waking up she has to go out and chill with her friends a few times a week, the maid has no choice but to play with the baby, feed him, tuck him in bed, clean him, and (dear God!) teach him!

Phase Three: The Successors

Or should I say, sucksessors…

Let’s be real. You know I am not exaggerating. Even though there are still some ‘real’ parents out there who give their all to their children once they have them, these are only a minority. Unfortunately, this has been the case for quite a long time.

The result? A corrupt generation. No ethics. No sane relationships. No boundaries. No brains. And two horrible role models for future children-raising.

************************************

Well, if that was the general case, then why is it so wrong if someone had the guts to say “I don’t want kids anytime soon! I feel that I’m still selfish and I won’t be a good parent, yet.” or “I cannot be responsible for another creature right now, so I’m postponing this issue; if I didn’t, then some maid will have to raise my own children!”

I think that taking such a decision is perfectly fair even -no...especially- for the kids (kids-to-be?) themselves.

I guess I did talk a lot in the end :p

[1] Why girls are becoming such incompetent mothers is a more complicated issue. I might post something about it later.

Upside-Down Priorities

So these last 10 days of 2009 are quite different from the past years'.

Why, you ask?

Here's why, and I'm solely addressing Muslims who might read this post:

It's Christmas, it's a new AD year (2010), and it's a new Hijri year (1431) all together.

Confused?

Well, we Muslims don't celebrate Christmas, and we aren't supposed to celebrate New Year's, but we do anyway. It's an official holiday, and some of us party.

A new Hijri year, however, means that we're in the month of Moharram. In this month roughly half of the Muslim population mourns the death of our Prophet's (PBUH) grandson. It’s a great deal for this half, and we all know that.

Now what’s really puzzling me this year is the huge number of Muslims who are posting and sending messages like "Happy new yea~r!" and "Merry X-ma~s!" to each other, and to their non-Muslim friends, and never once did any of those condoled their heart-broken Muslim brothers and sisters from the other sect. Have you forgotten? Have you stopped caring? Or you've never cared to begin with...

When did we stop caring about each other? When did our priorities change?

It's not too late to set your priorities right, yet :) Try to find a grieving friend today, and give them your condolences. They will appreciate it. After all, we’re all Muslims; we have to love each other, and feel for each other.

Love & Peace!

A view from VIVA (and the Gulf Street) - Kuwait's lovely Winter <3

Benefits of working in/for a new private company:

New bathrooms ==> clean bathrooms and they smell good!

New, big building; many floors ==> great view!

Employees are fresh and enthusiastic!

Leaving work at 4-5 pm ==> great sky (only in winter, though)

That's it!

This is a view from the cafeteria. I know I have!

Why do people love saying that anyway? If you - daily - spend that amount of time chatting, playing games or You Tubing music and whatnot (which is what most people would assume), then you actually might not have a life (let's be real!). But what most of those ignorant I-am-better-than-all-of-you people don't know is that most of us actually have WORK to do on those machines! Unfortunately, that's how it is these days; if you're an outgoing person who cares about having fun and socializing all the time then people would assume that you have an awesome life. But if you have decent goals in your mind and want to work and improve, benefit others and make a change, then you're that pathetic geek loser who’s missing a great deal of Life.

Well, whether you’re a workaholic, a geek, or someone who thinks has no life for real, if you are optimistic and smile sincerely to all the different kinds of people you meet every day, then you’re definitely spreading positive, happy energy, affecting everyone around you, and most probably making them happy. That is the best life anyone can have.

On the other hand, if you think this post is totally useless because that phrase has never been told to you, then take this advise: Never dis or think low of an IT dude :p for the Geek Shall Inherit the Earth!

Hello {Cyber}World!

There's only one reason that made me think of creating my own blog: Make A Difference!
I would love to share my thoughts with you guys and get response and feedback; and I promise you, this will be one heck of a heterogeneous crazy messed up blog =p

Seriously though! If I want to write a daily journal I'd sign myself up on Twitter, but I want my posts to be useful, fun, and hopefully inspirational! In general, my posts will fall under the following categories:

Ranting. I will definitely rant XD. And I expect you to show some empathy and interaction!

Talk about new things: New discoveries, new conclusions, etc.

Might share my own perspectives, conceptions, and points of view.

Talk about weird people (I don't like gossip, but give me a break!
